[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
