Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
