The Town (Al-Balad)

20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 For you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city. 2 And [by] the father and that which was born [of him], 3 Verily, We have created man into [a life of] pain, toil and trial. 4 Does He think that no one will ever have control over him? 5 He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance." 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Did We not give him two eyes, 8 And a tongue and two lips, 9 And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 and what shall teach thee what is the steep? 12 It is the freeing of a slave 13 or the feeding in times of famine 14 Of a related orphan, 15 or of a needy [stranger] lying in the dust 16 the believers who cooperate with others in patience (steadfastness) and kindness. 17 These are the people of the right hand. 18 And those who disbelieve Our signs - they are the fellows of the lefthand. 19 with the Fire closed above them. 20

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
