If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships in the sea like mountains. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 If one avenges himself after he has been wronged, there is no way of blaming him. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
