Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 They know all that you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
