The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to the defrauders, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 unto a mighty day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
