The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 to their promise, 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
