And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
