Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
