Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And assuredly We gave grace unto Musa and Harun. 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And helped them, so they were victorious. 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And We guided them to the Straight Way. 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 Verily Elias is one of the apostles. 123 When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 "Peace upon Elias." 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And surely ye pass by them in the morning. 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
