Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
