Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
