The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
