and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
