Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
