50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
