He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing and joyous 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
