The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
