Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
