Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
