HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
