He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 And much remember Thee. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They both submitted, “Our Lord – indeed we fear that he may oppress us or deal mischievously.” 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
