Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
