Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
