NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
