The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
