The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
