Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
