Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and had not known my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
