The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
