Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And there were those who said, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
