And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and most surely We are the makers of things ample. 47 And the earth -- We spread it forth; O excellent Smoothers! 48 And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful. 49 Therefor flee unto Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from him. 50 And make not another an object of worship with Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! 51 Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man." 52 Is this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds! 53 So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed. 54 But go on reminding them, as reminding benefits the believers. 55 And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. 56 I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong. 58 So verily unto those who do wrong there is a portion like unto the portion of their fellows; wherefore let them not ask Me to hasten on. 59 Woe then to the unbelievers for their Day which they were promised! 60
