Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
