Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
