۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
