Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the sinners. 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
