Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress. 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 And Ilyas was most surely of the apostles. 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We annihilated the others. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
