When Abraham said to his father and his people: "I am rid of what you worship 26 [I worship] only Him who created me, and He will certainly guide me," 27 And he made it a word enduring among his seed, that haply they might return. 28 Aye! I let these and their fathers enjoy life, until there hath come unto them the truth and an apostle manifest. 29 And when the truth cometh unto them, they say this is magic, and verily we are therein disbelievers. 30 And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns? 31 What, is it they who divide the mercy of the Lord? We have divided between them their livelihood in the present life, and raised some of them above others in rank, that some of them may take others in servitude; and the mercy of thy Lord is better than that they amass. 32 And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We should make for those who disbelieve in the Compassionate roofs of silver for their houses and silver stairways whereby they ascend. 33 and [silver] doors for their houses, and [silver] couches whereon to recline, 34 And adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones etc. of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is only for the Muttaqun. 35
