Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
