The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
