The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Who will be honoured 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
