The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
