And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 A blast struck them for a just cause, and We made them look like withered leaves. God keeps the unjust people away from His mercy. 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
