The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
