Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
