Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
