The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
