Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
