And this is Our argument, which We gave Ibrahim against his people; We raise to high ranks whomever We will; indeed your Lord is Wise, All Knowing. 83 And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob; and We guided each of them as We had guided Noah aforetime. And out of his offspring, [We bestowed prophethood upon] David, and Solomon, and Job, and Joseph, and Moses, and Aaron: for thus do We reward the doers of good; 84 and [upon] Zachariah, and John, and Jesus, and Elijah: every one of them was of the righteous; 85 Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot -- We favoured each one of them above other people, 86 With some of their forefathers and their offspring and their brethren; and We chose them and guided them unto a straight path. 87 That is God's guidance; He guides by it whom He will of His servants; had they been idolaters, it would have failed them, the things they did. 88 They are those whom We gave the Book, Al-Hukm (understanding of the religious laws), and Prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein (the Book, Al-Hukm and Prophethood), then, indeed We have entrusted it to a people (such as the Companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW) who are not disbelievers therein. 89 Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so from their guidance take an example. Say, "I ask of you for this message no payment. It is not but a reminder for the worlds." 90
