Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
